In April this year, I had a random itch to try to combine a variety of skills I’ve accumulated through making rendered terrain maps, and create a digital alien planet using Blender.

This world’s burnt orange sky is thick with hydrogen and methane, causing a violet tinge at its outer limits. Oceans and lakes of ammonia fill millions of asteroid craters from the planet’s early days.
